Growing up I remember many things, like the ‘ice cream’ we licked during breaks in our primary school days or the way we quickly arrange the house between the time our dad blows his car horn at the gate and him driving in and parking his vehicle.
In all these none can be as memorable as when we visited the Zoo. It was like we stepped into another world unknown to me. The typical sound of the city was gone. No car horns, road rage or exhaust fumes. Just nature. I remember hearing the birds and insects like it was the first time. It was loud and clear. The distinct smell of the animals was ever present. It was peaceful. Seeing the animals was the cherry on top.
As an adult, few things give me that nostalgic feeling still. One of them is lodging at Omenma Hotels. Yes, it’s true. It is removed from the city, so it is quieter than other hotels. You can hear the birds and insects if you are not watching your cable TV.
Trained security personnel make sure you are not disturbed. I could actually lay on my bed and hear my thoughts. A me time. A quiet time. That’s when business idea flow uninterrupted. It is a pleasure that is almost immeasurable and lacking in most other hotels.
What is your nostalgic moment? Do share. Don’t enjoy the feeling alone.
