The issue of who should be the breadwinner is not necessarily being contested. Naturally, it is the job of the man to provide and protect his family. The wife supports. However, in some families, the tables are turned: the wife earns more than the man or is the outright breadwinner.
What do you think of women being the breadwinner? If your wife earns a lot more than you do, would you be happy as a man? I know families the wife is the breadwinner and pays all the bills but outsider hardly knew. I also know a family about to break up because the wife earns a lot more than the man, hardly settles any bills in the house and has even gone ahead to buy a land in her name.
Just yesterday, a man in our estate discovered that for over 8 years, he has been paying house rents to the his wife. His wife bought the house, got them to move into it from their previous resident and started collecting rents through a lawyer.
The man said the most painful part is that the house rent has been increased 3 times in 8 years and he wife rarely contributes to other bills in the house like their kids school fees, feeding or health bills. All efforts he made in the past to move to an apartment that fits his earnings proved abortive.
We are to go help settle the issue because the man is saying he is moving out of the house this week with his kids and his wife is not coming with him.
